I immediately called the after hours line and the phone nurse called my RE. "Don't panic!", he said. "See you at 8:30." What? Whaddya mean, don't panic?! When you're knocked up with three babies and you see blood...sir, you panic!
I waited a few minutes, decided to lay down for a bit to see if it would stop, and tried to breathe and pray at the same time. I waited in the clinic an hour later and eventually went to the ultrasound room to get checked out. Both ultrasound techs took a look and some pics, and reassured me. It turned out it was a placental bleed. Evidently it's common in IVF patients and usually resolves on its own, not that there's much they can do at 6 weeks anyway. The tech explained more and showed me where it had been, noting that it looked closed now.
I've decreased to an occasional spot here and there, so I'm feeling relieved that the flow of blood is over. Hopefully it won't pick back up again anytime soon. They've decided to watch the beans closely and see me again Wed. I'm supposed to sit or lie down until then. Blah. But A, B & C are all growing! B's yolk even seems to have caught up to A! The trips are well on their way! I can't wait to hear their little heartbeats!
